In the follow-up to my earlier blog "Embarking on a Watercolor Painting Adventure to Unleash My Creativity - Oct 22, 2023", I have moved on to the second set of Modules which is all about Trees.
On a leisurely Saturday afternoon, embraced by the vibrant colors just beyond my window and basking in the streaming sunlight, I find myself painting. As I immerse in this tranquil moment, I quiet my mind, allowing the release of my creativity that has been bottled up for far too long.
The first step was learning the different techniques for painting trees. Who knew there were so many different techniques? The teacher, Kolbie Bloom, gracefully walks you through each technique in detail.
After the lessons, come the projects. She usually has two or three projects per module. The first project is called Endless Woods. It's about using all the different techniques learned in one painting. While this painting doesn't look exactly like the teacher's, it's a good first try.
The second project is called Misty Woods where you are taught how to layer all the different techniques using a single color. You use some of the techniques of the first set of modules - Night Skies to start the painting.
I have to say, I'm impressed by the course so far. While my paintings aren't 'professional' quality....yet...they are opening up my creativity and inspiring me to continue my journey. I'm excited to see what's next. Stay tuned to watch my progress!
